Profile Balancing

Chin & Jawline Filler

Profile balancing is a way of aligning the individual features of the face to harmonise together into the ideal ratio. It enables features are balanced in profile and ensures that the augmentation of one feature, such as lips or nose, does not then enhance an unwanted feature of another.

The position of the chin is often overlooked by patients. Chin filler can harmonise the profile of the face by bringing the chin (and lower lip) forward into its aesthetic ideal. If a patient has a small chin, lip filler will accentuate this appearance and make it look more out of proportion. Evidence has also shown that chin augmentation will help to give more definition to the jawline by pulling the tissue forwards.

Chin filler can be added to elongate the face by adding length to the lower third, in order to achieve the optimal facial proportions. This also helps to create the ideal heart-shaped face.
Jawline filler can enhance the definition of your face and also mask the appearance of jowls to restore a more youthful look.

Jawline enhancement can add width and definition at the angle of the jaw, often favoured by male patients in order to further masculinise the face.

Jowls appear more prominent with age as a result of soft tissue laxity and the growth of superficial jowl fat over time. Dr Helen mainly uses jawline filler to sharpen the prejowl region, in order to mask the appearance of jowls and to create more definition and the heart shaped facial ideal”

Adding a small amount of volume to cheeks on a flat face can help to harmonise the face and reduce the prominence of the nose, where desired

Temple Filler

Temporal muscle and fat deterioration is extremely ageing to the face and can often be overlooked in treatment planning. The ideal facial shape is the heart shape, or ‘inverted triangle’. Temporal wastage gives the opposite, undesirable effect with the head going inwards at the sides.

Temple fillers provide wonderful results by restoring this loss of volume and rejuvenating the appearance, while also providing a lift to the lateral eyebrow and helping to pad out the superior crows feet rhytids.

Tear Trough Filler

The tear trough is the hollow beneath the eye and it can be filled out, on the right patient, using a hyaluronic acid filler.

This can improve the dark, tired appearance and reduce wrinkles in the region.

Specialist training and product is required to treat this region. Dr Helen has carried out three separate and intense, full-day training courses on this specific area.

A thorough consultation is mandatory as different options are often advised instead of or prior to tear trough filler, such as cheek filler or lower blepharoplasty surgery.
